What have we all done tonight?

I've been to a alternative summer fair to see my sister and her stall, had take away and now thinking I should go to bed as I start work at half 6 tomorrow. First shift back lifeguarding after 3months of nursing placement, would much prefer a holiday like the rest of my friends but that's life I suppose.

That's my whinge for now.

    good evening

was gonna go for a ride on my bike earlier, but when i went to get the bike i noticed a flat front tire, turned around and and decided i couldnt be ****** so instead i did sweet **** all, ordered in some indian had a few beers and chilled out, making most of being able to do nothing on my last week of leave before i go back to camp. :x
  • I have started putting the bike together, though i need a lot more pieces. and while figuring out a few things, it has taken me all day to realise the way i was trying to set up shifters was backwards causing an awful lot of confusion.

Sorted brakes on my Anthem (making annoying tinging noise again). Swapped out V8 copy pedals for spds curing alarming knocking sound - major relief that this appears to be pedal bearings and not knackered bottom bracket.

Quick spin on spds to check everything OK, but anticipate comedy spd 'moment' some time this weekend.

I have also been re-assembling neglected 1995/6 Marin Muirwoods. A bit of a clean and some TLC and it seems OK... new tyres and tubes, new brake pads, new saddle and now it seems good to go - and at 27lbs it seems like a reasonable ride to me. It should now be fit for my 14 year old nephew to come out for a spin with me tomorrow as it is about the right size for him.

Now back to finishing 'Wolf Hall'... gripping tale of Thomas Cromwell and Henry VIII's break with Rome. Highly recommended!

Lazy night tonight, convenience food for supper and I then watched Good Will Hunting on BBC 3 as I'd never seen it before.
