Hi
Im looking to get a full suss for trails, xc and some fun and am looking at the yeti 575, lapierre zesty and trek ex8. Ive seen the last two written up in a mag recently and have drooled over the yeti.
what im after is what is their long term reliability like, have they broken on you easily and is the yeti worth the extra. Im no newbie to biking so its going to be worth any investment into it but ive always had a hardtail.
cheers

What about a Santa Cruz Blur LT ?
I test rode one at the weekend and it was awesome, my LBS are pricing up a custom build for me atm0 -
I can't praise the Yeti enough, had mine since Xmas and it has just been fantastic, I've breifly ridden the Lappy 514 and Orange 5, and they are also excellent bikes, but just didn't feel, for me, as good as the Yeti. I've ridden at least once a week over that time, through the crap winter we had, flew down CymCarn xc trail and the rocky descents of the Peak District and have no reliability issues. A friend did the Megavalanche on his because his DH bike broke and he did it no probs.
Looking at your website, you'd love it, you can also read more on my little review here:

Of course going to a 5 inch travel full suss from HT is going to be a whole new world for you though, no matter which bike you get.0 -
To confuse things even more, what about a Turner 5-Spot... I've not ridden the DW version, but general consensus is that it's even better than the Horst / faux bar versions preceeding it...
I'm still riding an 06 version and love it - the most assured bike I've ever had...
There are '09 and '10 versions about for considerably less than retail at the moment..0 -
cheers for the feedback.
I had forgotten about the blur. they do do nice bikes. Think i might have to tee up some test rides...
yeti
zesty
blur
and will have to scope out the turner over the next few weeks. i think they're different so will see which one fits the best.
