Pain in the ball of the foot

Last week whilst cycling I was with a group of mates and tried to keep up with the lead riders. I know silly boy. Anyway on the hill climbs my gearing was higher than normal to keep pace and cadence relative, but I knew I was pushing hard.
Anyway since then I have been favouring my right foot because if i put all my weight in it its fairly painfull. Seems to be behind the toes and in between the ball of the foot. As anyone else experienced this, and does it take a while to sort itself. If not, a visit to the quack may be on the cards.
I have told myself (Next time no your limits)

I got this for a while, and someone on here suggested slightly loosening my shoe. It worked for me... I hope it helps you.

I had one of them red bikes but I don't any more. Sad face.

Better than pain in the foot of your ball.

If you do a lot of cycling and this is the first time it's happened then just sounds like you've strained something and should take it easy for a few days. If you're only just getting into cycling then it sounds like your cleats may be too far forward on your shoes or you shoe/pedal combo isn't offering enough support.

    Thanks, thats valid advice.
I have just changed from spd to spd-sl for that very reason.
I agree its lack of support, plus I over pushed myself.
These kind of injuries never happened on my good old toe clips. I know, I know, clipless is better.
Well when I can start riding again I will let you know. But at the moment all my clipless experiences are far from good.
Are there any people who DON'T use clipless, c'mon own up. I can't be the only one having issues with the bl**dy things !

My left shoe gives me a bit of discomfort after a while. Stupid rigid carbon soles. I have put some extra padding in there which has helped, and am wearing thicker socks.

Ironically, I have just purchased some Time shoes, and the right one now seems to be the uncomfortable one.
