Another new bike thread

Hi everyone,
Been looking to get a bike and I think I pretty much settled on this one http://www.evanscycles.com/products/cannondale/trail-sl-4-2010-mountain-bike-ec020207 . I spoke to the guy at evans both thought good bike.
Here's the kicker, whilst browsing bikes again on website I looked at the Scott range again (I had considered them the first time) and saw this one, http://www.evanscycles.com/products/scott/aspect-20-2010-mountain-bike-ec020606 . It's got me thinking, does it have better components? Is it a better bike? Should i just stick with my first choice?
Any help and advice would be great
