Upgrade or new bike?

Hi all, so heres my dilemma, i currently have a GT Tempest 2.0 and has served me well so far but, i want to get a proper mountain bike not a half jump bike/mountain bike, i really like the way the GT feels i can throw it about and i feel i'd loose that ability if i were to get a new proper mountain bike, so my options are do i upgrade the Tempest or buy a totally new bike? 800 quid will buy a tough all round sort of bike liike the GT Aggressor XCR.0
