http://www.bhf.org.uk/get_involved/take ... ps=1000633
I think i may have been caught up in male bravado and agreed to do the 40 mile route.. Is anyone else doing it or have any idea how hard a 40 miles it will be as there is no route map that i can find

Did it last year, here's my GPS:-

Assume it'll be the same course?
Quite slow going round - would have been happier with a better time - was shepherding a couple of mates round who'd never done an enduro like this before. It's not a race though right?
The course is a mixture of bridleways and double track, some quite steep rocky descents & climbs. Weather was piss poor on top of the moors with heavy driving rain that added to the fun.0 -
That looks like a pretty hardcore ride. I'm doing the 23 mile route :oops:1998 Marin Hawk Hill

it looks worse than it was - it depends on your training!
My advice would be:-
-At least 20 miles off road using an ordnance survey map a week - you need to get used to non-trail centre conditions
-a ride in heavy weather to make sure your waterproofs work
-a mate to ride with for support - it's not a race and you can share the Bad Times.
