Add-on large sprocket

A while ago, someone on this forum posted link to an extra sprocket which could be added to the inside of a standard 10-speed cassette to provide an extra-low granny gear. (As you'd expect, you'd have to remove one of the other sprockets to create space).

Does anyone remember the thread, or know what I'm talking about? Try as I might, I can't find it...

    and it requied modification of the mech as well. though i thought it was for a 9sp set up.

    but what is the point when Sram and shimano do 11-36 and 12-39 10spd cassettes.

    I assume those are "intended" for MTBs; any compatibility issues with a road mech (assuming it has enough range, obviously)? I'm on SRAM...

    Sram road and MTB 10spd systems are fully mixable.

    but you will need to run a MTB mech.
