So this is the build I've been planning for a while, it's my budget bike for uni next month and the pub etc! Since my commencal frame died a bit of a death, i decided to get a move on building this. The frame arrived today from our own "Tony620" and it's gorgeous and in fantastic condition, deal with him in confidence! Cheers, Tony!
I was going to put all the nice bits from my Commencal on this, but the pikes were too short, so i thought to hell with it, i'll just build this up with my budget parts. It's essentially some new bits, some old bits i had lying around, and a couple of bits i've had to scrounge off my other bikes (seat, grips and cranks from the commencal, wheels and back brake from my mongoose, i've put some cheaper tattier wheels on that though so it still runs).
Sorry for the bad photo, it's off my phone, i'll take some better ones on my dad's DSLR tomorrow. Still cable routing, gear indexing, front brake bleed (needs doing BADLY) and a few other little bits to do, other than that. that's about it.

Ok, these photos do the bike a lot more justice, even though some are a little over-exposed etc. Please excuse my poor camera skills. Just need to bleed the front brake and she's ready to roll!

Hate to break it to you, but im pretty sure that is an Avalanche elite, designed for a 100mm fork.. not a Aggressor elite designed for a 130-140mm fork.
looks nice thoughI like bikes and stuff0 -
Nope, it's an aggressor, they're just fairly rare from what i can see, only a couple of pics of this particular colour come up when you google it, the rest were that green/white one. If it was an avalanche, it would say avalanche on it somewhere i think.
Oh, and there's no such thing as an "avalanche elite"0 -
i have ridden one of those, (and not just my own gt hardtail) i thought it was a very nice bike. i think the frame has some real nice detailing like the external butting/gusseting round the headtube area and the colour is ace in the flesh.0

Furry muff, actually, now i look at it more closely i can see the tube shapes are identicle to my XCR which shares the same frame as the elite...
Nice frame, rides really well, IME, although if you can get a 140mm fork for it ASAP, as when iv run travel adjustable forks on it in the past iv found that it only really works at 140mm for more aggro stuff, its just a bit too steep otherwise, although its still good for XC and singletrack.I like bikes and stuff0 -
Yeah i agree sheepsteeth, the detailing is really nice, the colour is gorgeous too, it's like a pearl white, not just a flat white, very nice, the camera doesn't do it justice really. Really looking forward to riding it! Tomorrow with any luck.
josh - it has 130mm toras on it, should be enough i reckon. I was going to put my pikes on it but the steerer was too short0 -
looking smart mate, is a very good looking frame. glad to see it built up and being used again though0

Just been out on it on the local loop and had an absolute blast! First time I've ridden a hardtail in about a year and it's really different! For starters I feel a lot more knackered, maybe because I can't plow through everything like I can on a fully, I had to stand up more, which made me want to stomp on the pedals a lot more! Also, using my legs instead of a rear shock. I still love riding a fully though, but the hardtail is fun It also felt a lot faster on roads/firetrails. On the road ride back home, which is downhill slightly, I got some really good speed up... It almost made me see why people ride road bikes :shock:0
