not the best time...but can pay for some long haul flights as its my annual hols. Anyone done a decent tour this time of year were theres a chance of sun? Interested in actual locations/routes rather than just Chile/South Africa/Aus etc ...

Ethiopia. South from Addis Ababa (main road to Nazret then fork left for minor roads) to the Bale Mountains, over the Sanetti Plateau (Robe - Goba - Dola Mena - Bitata) and back. You might need a few extra days though.
