Let's torture ourselves and see how far the gap is between dreams and reality.

Dream Bike = Giant NRS
Actual Bike = Giant NRS
(Obviously this is for my XC race bike)
Can't see what the problem is...0 -
The problem is I am not made on money and cannot fund a fourth bike!0

dream bike, i reckon would be mojo hd, just cause it looks gucci
have, an enduro, 2 stumpjumper fsr, a giant rainier and a gt webbo.0 -
Dream bike, Marin Quake with Fox 40s.
Actual bike, Wolf ridge with Fox 36s.
I had to compromise because I really need a bike that can do it all, and the quake was just too much of a DH-esque bike really.0 -
Dream Bike: Salsa Casseroll single speed road bike, theres something about cruising around with just one gear thats appealing, not that I've tried it, probably sucks actually.
Actual bikes: Orange five pro, Marin Rocky Ridge and a Cannondale caad 9 racer.........all

I don't really have a 'dream bike'
I would like to try a Ti frame bike though, not a dream bike as such, just curiosity as to what it would actually ride like
Current fleet of bikes is
'98 Orange Clockwork
'07 Orange 5 Pro
'10 Cube AMS Pro R1
All of which are damn good at what they do
I did turn down the chance to own a Ibis Mojo a few months ago, lush as it is it's just too close to the 5 in what it's designed for.0 -
I've been thinking about this recently and I have no dream bike. I like mine. I'm under no illusions about how good a rider I am and mine suits me. It's tough enough to withstand my riding, it's light enough (just) to pedal up hills, it has bouncy bits at either end so my knackered knee doesn't feel more knackered, it's a nice and bright colour and it's just battered enough to look homely <hugs coiler>0

I don't even know if my dream bike is made, but here's a description.
Fully carbonfibre frame with black weave in it. Full Sram XO drivetrain black and red.The best brakes, forks, and rear suspension money can buy with my current shimano pedals. Actual weight of around 7kg. I can keep dreaming right.
Actual bike: Cube LTD Blue and silver0 -
dream bike:intense Uzzi VP,chris king headset and BB,XTR cranks front mech chain,x0 rear mech shifters, fox 36 180s,i9 wheels, avid elixir CR Mag brakes, easton EC 90 monkeylite Sl bar and Thomson stem and post
current bike:456 SSI assume this is French petrol - be careful in reverse - the car will retreat rapidly at the least provocation.0 -
Would be my Zaskar frame, full XTR, RS Rev World Cups. Summat like that.0
-
Whyte 19 Trail Ti.
But I don't think it's actually possible to buy one. Obviously anybody who could afford that sort of money would buy the full sus that they really want. So it must be just one of those concept vehicles they make up for shows.
Current bike: poor man's look-alike of the aboveCanyon XC 8.0 '11
Whyte 19 steel '100 -
Dream bike: No such fantasy in my life
Actual bike: Good enough for me, so a result!0 -
I guess my dream bike would be based on components, and for me that's basically the lightest you can get that are durable. The frame is tricky as there aren't that many expensive frames I have tried so it will have to be the HandsomeDog0
-
dream bike - Orange st4 pro in passion red with a few upgrades to take a bit of weight off
current bike - trek fuel ex 8 09it is hard to soar like an eagle when you are surrounded by turkeys0 -

If you're going to do N+1, you may as well do it properly Living less than 2 miles from a Yeti dealer and main UK distributor is a good place to be...."I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]0 -
