hi im wondering if theres an adjustment on the avid juicy 3's to tighten the bite on the disc, iv got a'10 specialized fsr xc comp and iv only used it properly 4 times but it feels as though back brake has slackend off a bit and theres not as much bite as there should be

There is no specific adjustment for the pad contact point
This link is avid's setup guide, look at what it says about deadband and advancing the pad position on the 2nd page, that might solve your problem

adjust the reach adjust screw."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

As far as i am aware their is no adjustment on juicy 3's , but what i did is use a dremmel to etch my brake disc, this put an edge on it and it has so much more bite.Mountain-Claud Butler Pinewood

Reach adjustment is a grub screw under the lever. Sounds like they just needed cleaning though and bedding in. I have juicy threes on two bikes good brakes but dont like muc off , gt85 etc.
Try a bit of wet and dry shouldnt really need a dremmel. :shock:0 -
check the gap between the pads and the disc if its more than about .6mm each side then try pumping or clamping up the brake lever over night to reset it. I would not recommend etching your discs if you intend to use your bike in wet weather. your pads will last 5 mins if you do that.0
