Newbie's First Jersey & Arm/Leg Warmers

Looking for the above, but had a few questions.

Jersey-wise I was looking at the Shutt jerseys, which seem to get a good write up but are part-synthetic. The Endura merino jerseys seem like a bargain and are full merino but (and it might just be the pictures) look pretty sloppily put together and I wouldn't think they'd fit very well.

With regard to the arm/leg warmers, should I be looking for merino or a more technical 'thermo-fleece' sort of lining? I was tempted towards the Shutt warmers too, but they're just lycra so I can't see them being very warm. Again, the Endura merino warmers look good but not terribly wind-proof and I was also considering some Pearl Izumi ones.

Thoughts?

Depends on the weather. I found for the cooler weather approaching that the lycra style you talk about are ample enough for me. I can only see progressing into warmer material when the temp drops below 10 degrees for example.

I've used santini arm warmers for over a year and they are first rate IMO.

Have a look at www. Prendas.co.uk (I think this it the site) cos they have good stuff and are pretty reliable in my experience.

get lycra jerseys, if it gets cool use a base layer underneath, the castelli core mesh base is good, if it's hot you can still use the same jersey

lycra arm warmers are, well, warm, look for 'roubaix' fabric or similar, this is a lycra with a fleece inner surface, it's thin but warm

Good choice sam_m, I love my Shutt stuff and it looks like they are going to be bringing out an autum/winter range soon. It may be worth joining the clubroom, which is free and you get a discount on future purchases, it's not been going long but there are some rides orginised for all levels. If you join their facebook page you will also be get notification when new ones pop up. It's a friendly company/club that is growing as the word spreads.
