Painting my lid (Protec Ace)

Hey guys, I wondered if anyone had an personal experience painting helmets? I think my Protec is basically screaming for a touch up or something, it's got quite a few marks and scratches, basically wanted to tidy it up. It's kinda matte grey, and I was thinking of spraying it ocean blue or yellow or something.
Any advice or tips guys?
Cheers! 8)
Note to mod: I assume this post fits here since I don't think this is workshop material, more grab a can and go for it If not, apologies!

I'd check with the manufacturer as with motorbike lids there are certain paints you have to use to maintain the level of protectionWhether you're a king or a little street sweeper, sooner or later you'll dance with the reaper.

Certain solvents can degrade helmets so as above I'd check with the manufacturerMerlin Malt 1

If your helmet is polycarbonate or plastic, don't bother.
If it's a glassfibre or carbon laminate, then it can be painted, but just wait till you get a quote.
I'll be prepared to be that a new helmet will be far cheaper.
