One of the presenters, doesn't matter who, describing a car said,

" Something...that Stirs Your Soul "...
That's IT, RIGHT THERE!!!

I like music I can FEEL...
Films that make your emotions go all twitchy...
Rides that make you seem tiny against Mother Nature...
Paintings, sketches, art that makes you just go, " Wow! How did they do THAT?! "...
Poems, verse that gets under your skin, make you think, " I've been there too "...
Dancers that make you wanna get-up-and-boogie...

It's the "Something that...STIRS YOUR SOUL" moment.

I really LOVE that moment, but what the Hell is it?
Is it the same things that do it for you too?!

I actually know exactly what you mean for a change.
I had one of those rides on Sunday. Impossible to explain, but it was just SOOO RIGHT.

    im totally with you.

certain songs, spesh in my clubbing days, make the hairs on my neck stand up.
or walking around the city and some beautiful girl walks past, then you get a waft of her perfume. always makes me smile.

moments like that are what life is all about.

Yes I know exactly what you mean. The rides where nothing's wrong, everything flows its just perfect. Music that makes you grin no matter what mood. Like Psymon said (although he probably has a bit of MissBint's perfume somewhere  ) the perfume you gf or whatever wears that just makes you think about them.

It's not the breaths you take in life, it's that moments that take you breath away that count.

Every one is soulless. Souls do not exist.

If you believe all of this hippy bullshit then you are stuck in the stone age and need to get a grip of your life.

  • That is a bicycle frame with soul written on it. That is akin to claiming the Santa Cruz Jackal is a bone crunching wild animal.

You weren't specific. That is a picture of an actual soul.

    Have you ever studied Zen?
It's is very odd. Most of what people refer to as being "zen" aren't.

Top Gear mention this too. I can sorta get it with cars, classic ones that have 'character'. But bikes? Not really!

Either you haven't had the right bike, or it's the ride that gives me that moment of clarity, not the bike.

I've got the right bike. Some click more than others, but is a scientific thing I can quantify. I don't think bikes have mythical qualities that you should pay extra for.

I have to say, I've had a few bikes, which have resulted in me getting one of those moments where you take a step back on a ride, and think "I love my bike, because without it, I wouldn't have been here, today, to see this"

I've had other bikes where I've had those moments where I stop to admire the view, and couldn't give a damn about the thing that transported me there.

So, in a certain sense, I can understand a certain emotional attachment to some bikes.
