Just saw this after not seeing if for a good 20 years. Brings back a lot of memories, shame the best part's missing.

Right, I may be going mad, but that shot where the lad cycles off looks very very much like Maidenstone Hill in Greenwich (don't be misled by the northern accents). And my very first ever girlfriend lived up that hill - hence the personal interest.
I'd never seen the ad before but even the street lights are the same and are in the same places. The corner shop is not a real corner shop, it hasn't been for over 30 years - they've mocked it up to look like one.
When it stops raining, I'm going to cycle up there and take a photo from a better angle than street view gives:

Nah, it's Greenwich Council that don't know what they're doing. Can you see any no entry signs?0 -
I bet your first love will be pleased to see you.deptfordmarmoset wrote:Right, I may be going mad, but that shot where the lad cycles off looks very very much like Maidenstone Hill in Greenwich (don't be misled by the northern accents). I reckon you're right.
It's a bit of a way to go (from Chester) just for one snap though.0 -

Yep, I just went up and took a couple of photos, got back and thought ''hang on a minute, I know where the first shot was taken from. And, even odder, this first shot actually shows the house where my very first ever sweetheart lived. (As google street view doesn't do paths I had to go out again and photograph that as well - it's from a pathway leading down from the Point, near the top of Blackheath Hill.) So it's 2 shots and I'm guessing that the backyard shot was done from the backyard of the house in Dutton Street where the streetview picture was taken from was filmed from.
There's a few Greenwich streets that have appeared in commercials- I suppose it's the nearest ''looks like oop north'' setting that media types can get to without having to go outside zone 2.

While I think of it, this little nugget manages to include a Greenwich hill and cycling the wrong way up a one-way street (in Deptford).

I think it should be shown as a double-bill with Rapha's forthcoming 'Dario Pegoretti' short.0
