I think we have been here before. .....
I shall actively be adopting said attire once again should the weather conditions permit. Then there may be pics. However I wouldn't hold out for it with the current meteorological conditions!Ride it like you stole it!0 -
nope can't stand wearing lycra, to tight to the skin makes me feel extremly uncomfortable.
And please do not go with the cheap assumption with me, it's very rude. I personally find Lycra not that comfy.
And miss Bint if the sun comes out your welcome on our Welsh trails any day just let us all kow first0 -
i tried wearing the l lycra shorts which were supplied with some baggy shorts i have, i found wearing them made me more sweaty and if you have ever seen my chinrest after a bike ride, you will know that you dont need any extra layers!!
even if i had the figure for lycra, i still wouldnt wear it i dont think, it seems a bit fruity.0 -

I think girls riding in bikinis should be encouraged! Well the tops at least I found it comfortable and a lot cooler, although I can see it being an issue if a girl has huuuuge baps (I don't).
As for the Bikini tops? That sounds ace. I applaud the effort of any wimmins who go riding in just a bikini top. Most of them usually have bottoms on too.0 -

Hmm. Somehow I find that less exciting.0

I'm with the OP on this one. Lycra padded shorts under baggies and 3/4 length sleeved DH top.
Plus a Camelbak bag full of tools, spares and scoff.
And for the love of god, flat pedals!
Won't be seeing me stranded with a broken bike 30 miles from anywhere!0 -
I love my lycra bibs. Yes, they look a bit like a mankini, but they're very very comfy, wick well and the pad is better than any baggy short liner."Melancholy is incompatible with bicycling." ~James E. Starrs0

just to add, i wear lycra on the road bike, but not on the MTB (Cause i do DH a LOT, and you hardly ever sit down).
Used to ride a lot of XC in baggies and a tee, and honestly the clothing felt horrible once it started to rain.
Whilst in contrast, i was out on the road bike fully lycra'd up (Bibs, baselayer & performance fitting jersey) and it shagged it down with rain. I was dry 5 mins after it stopped raining as it does just stay dry compared to baggies etc.0 -
I've never ever ridden in baggies. The public think you look ridiculous whether you wear lycra or baggies, may as well be more comfortable! Unless you're really fat, like Lampre-man, in which case you shouldn't be allowed to wear lycra!0

The reason I ask is becauseI tend to wear the same shorts that I ride in as just general summer wear and haven't had any sarcy comments.
I have however, had someone ask where I got them, because she really liked them, and wanted to get her boyfriend a pair of "cooler looking" shorts like that. I kid you not.0 -
