Yes cLock!

This clock to be precise.

Apparently a clock being built and set to the time of the country it's in is news these days
So my Grandad, who fought in the war against this sort of thing, would have to use a Muslim clock to keep his watch showing the correct time?
I am glad he died in 1972

Neither will I - but only because it will be 2-3 hours out because of time zones!

People are idiots, we've never had a modern war against muslims. Muslim extremists yes, but you have to remember they are to Islam what the KKK is to Christianity!

    This.

If you actually read the story properly, it boils down to
A big clock has been built in Saudi Arabia. It will not show GMT, instead it will show the time in Saudi Arabia. Just like clocks in Spain show Spanish time, and clocks in Australia show Australian time. However, some devout Muslims may choose set a clock by Saudi Arabian time, so they know what time it is in their holy city, something that they could equally do by just adding 3 hours to GMT. They probably do this already. It's just a clock.

That's it. And yet somehow there's people waffling on about grandparents fighting Nazi-Muslim clocks in WW2. Anyway, I thought WW2 was fought for freedom, not against it. :?

must be on about the famous world clock war that happened between ww1 and ww2.

what do you mean you dont remember it?
we fought them fuzzy wuzzies because they made a big clock and set their watches to it.
    we showed them!
and now they take all our jobs and digital watches and stuff.

Curiously, what with this silly talk of "my grandad fought for this" etc nonsense.
Did you know that it was initially the Germans, during the war who adopted daylight savings time?
The idea was put forward quite some time before, by an American president (I think) visiting France, where he commented, rather tongue in cheek that maybe the French should all adjust their clocks in order to actually see some of the day, since they were all rather fond of lie ins!

Challenge: The unveiling of the clock is a deliberate attempt to take over from Greenwich Observatory which was chosen as the starting point for the measurement of time in 1884

Ah, Islam always trying to undermine the western kafir infidels

Or maybe it's a Saudi Arabian clock, built in Saudi Arabia for Saudi Arabians to use, to tell the time with?
    Just a thought like.

    Just checked my "Welsh-Time" watch.

It's i979 and the Buggles "Video Killed the Radiostar" is No.1,

    Beer is 41p a pint,

And I've got hair, abdominals and no mortgage, scrounging kids and a great sex-life.

Old people have bad eyesight, and need to make sure they'll be home in time to watch Eastenders.
