And, no, I can't read...

Old bearing on the left, new on the right, note better sealing:

Hmm, slight problem with the width of the bearing (although the numbers match?):

That means there's a slight gap on the outer seal, but TBH, nothing really to worry about:

Also fitted the egg beaters (so I can mix cake whilst riding). They're just the base model, a 3am impuse purchase at SITS. Will see how I get on with them before making them lighter. That said, these hit the scales at 292g for the pair, which is 33g lighter than the XTR's they're replacing :

I also removed 25g off the seatpost (lopped 100mm off the end). As a result of refitting the seatpost, I now need to see if I can get a replacement bolt for my KCNC seatpost clamp. The bolts got bang and fire the head quite far if you tighten then too much (scared the bejesus out of the cat...)

:D

yeah me too. when I 1st decided to go clipless pedals. I got one set of SPD and one set of crank bros pedals so I could try them out and see which one I liked. The crank bro ones were faulty so I just ended up keeping the Shimano SPDs.

Im now thinking of trying some Crank Bro ones again.

Nope. Came from Bearing Boys. They're the uber-sealed version.

Also my fettling consisted of taking an old headset out and putting in a new one, swapping over crown races and now starting the base build of the idrive. No pics however so it clearly never happened!

Will see how I get on with them before making them lighter.

I can heartily recommend Ward Industries Ti Spindles on eBay, stuck a pair in my Egg Beater Cs, made them much lighter, they've not broken either under my immense 10.5 stone girth!

My 3am impulse at SITS was a bog dash across a dark field.

today i fitted a chainguide to my bike(might have to adjust it a bit but seems fine atm) and the lizard skins chainstay protector

I see your fettlin' and I raisre you this:

    head.jpg

Took that out earlier in the week to have a plug re-threaded. Put that back in, changed just about every gasket in the engine, cleaned everything and put everything back together.

Took these out the piston too...

Old 2.5 straight six from a 3 series. Not a V12 :( I'd love a nice big V12. Adore the old jag ones.
