Looking for a bargain ~£500

Have been commuting on MTB and want now to try a bit of road biking. Want to spend about £500 but dont mind waiting for a bargain.
I dont qualify for C2W as I'm self employed.
I have been keeping an eye on ebay but being in Aberdeen rules out the vast majority as pick up only.
I would prefer a big name bike :oops: eg Trek, Specialized or Giant.

Not looking for anyone to do the leg work as I'm keeping an eye myself but would be grateful for comments on the bikes I find and if you do see a bargain maybe you could point me in the right direction

The spesh Allez looks good altho I cant see how much it weighs. How does it compare to the Giant Defy 3.5?

9.8 kg for 56cm frame.

I didn't try the Giant but can vouch for the Allez as I have one. Lovely bike to ride and stunning in red.

I have a Allez great bike only had it a month or so and now there on sale! Gutted!

I guessed they would go down in the sale, I have had mine about the same time, but I got decent kits thrown in at the time plus good aftersales service so no complaints here. They have only dropped £50 too so not the end of the world really.
