Was there Sunday and it was mostly in good condition. I was expecting it to be a mud-fest going by the state of the first bit out of the car park but it's all good.

Just the top end (Whelpstone crag?) was a bit muddy, but all ridable and definitely worth a visit

Hully Gully is in about as good a condition as it gets! :D
  • Just got back from there, although I just did the bottom section as was starting to get dark.

Was hell of a lot drier than last week, although roots in the wooded sections were kinda slippy. All the loose small stones have been washed away and what is left is a firm n compact ground, very little slippage. In the wooded areas this has left some roots exposed and sticking up and you are riding over the roots as theres no stones there now and they can be kinda slippy. Went to Lee Quarry yesterday and was a Quagmire up to Gisburn today. Only muddy bit really as Cammer has said is the starting/finish pathway from the car park area.

No crashing today so always a good thing

As for the postcode, ive no idea what the car park postcode area is, but the road for the Stocks Res, (which is about 100 yards away down Hole House Lane) than the turn off for the car park is BB7 4TS Hope that helps. If you look on google map a little to the right of the road I indicated on Hole House Lane is a little circle road area, thats the car park.

Was alright last night. The first hundreds yards is more wet than muddy. Most of it is very rideable at the moment. Hully Gully was a little loose at the start, could do with sweeping the loose stones off. The whole section up to the crag is very stacatto, need to think of it as a technical challenge rather than a pain in the a**e. The big berms on Hully Gully are muddy, but only if you slide down them on your backside like I did last night.

    I've bought a new bike....ouch - result

  • Thanks all, i'll be there from 0900 on Saturday to give it a blast then Lee Quarry on the way back.

Does anyone know if they've linked Lee and cragg Quarry yet?

Don't think so but you can ride across, I'd imagine they'll be a fair few tyre tracks between the quarries by now.

  • Got to Gisburn at 0930 this morning. Took 2 hrs to get round including the black loops. The middle section is a bit soul destroying with little reward i found. About 30 mins of uphill rock garden which was a little too much for my liking however the gully was great and some of the new little skinny's built by the volenteers were very much appreciated. That rock vertical drop is something else too!
