Reba SL or Reba Race?

Liking the Reba dual airs as an upgrade to my current Mars Elites (frame will handle 100mm as near enough identical to current Tomac Cortez), with the added advantage that if I go with a 5" steel HT build over the winter, I can just pop the spacers out to give me 120mm travel.

But, is the Race worth the extra £30 odd over the SL (based on Merlin prices)? It looks like the only difference is external v internal floodgate.

In the real world, how much of an upgrade is this? I'm not a fiddler (so to speak), so unless it has some tangible advantages, I'm inclined to lean towards the SL with internal floodgate. I know £30 isn't that much, but even at Merlin prices I'm about £50 over budget already... :shock:

That is the only difference, and not worth the extra money.

Be aware that not all Rebas can be extended, especially the ones Merlin sell.

OK... interesting, how do 'some' Merlin Rebas vary to one bought from say CRC or Wiggle?

Is there an easy way to tell from pic / description on website? Merlin aren't exactly the best when it comes to product wording... :?

You have to contact them I am afraid - many are custom OE models.

Hi, did these come as 120mm as OE? Or have you removed internal spacers? You say serviced monthly, what type of servicing is that? And can you describe what you did to the poploc to deactivate it? Thanks

Hi, they are OE off of a Giant, the oil has been changed, foam rings lubed and the seals cleaned. The poplock you just unhook the return spring and put a o ring under the spool to make it a manual compression.

They have external floodgate by the way
