Ok so im trying to give myself a reason to not upgrade my groupset until next year as i have at least another winter in my current one.

My question is will i get a better deal in december / january cos less people are doing stuff to bikes etc. Not necessarily talking brand new but even second hand on ebay

I dont desperately need any new parts apart from big chainring as ifound the other day a tooth is completely missing off it

Only upgrading to 105 or ultegra. Just tempted with the planet x sale, chainset £75 and shifters £100, will i get a better deal on these or should i just snap them up?

Don't forget the VAT rise in January - might be more sensible to look in December?

just spent ages on the PX website looking for ultegra levers for £100. grrrrr

Depends on if you think they are a bargain now :shock:

As seen in the last few years, the price of bikes has gone up and the spec has fallen. Are you really willing to wait 6 months to save £5 or £10? Remember, most bike shops have cut back on stock so they might be a shortage sometime in the future (try buying a Cannondale CAAD9 now for example). If so, prices might remain or even go up.

Personally, if it's under £100 I'd buy now if I think it's a bargain.

Buy whenever there's a bargain, even if you then stockpile it for 6 months.
