Has anybody got any experience of wheels from these guys:

http://zerocx.com/carbon

The 50mm rimmed tubulars seem to have a very low weight for their price so wondering how stiff/good they are....

Also just noticed that the hubs have ceramic bearings and the included skewers are titanium.....

Is all this too good to be true?

They look like very good wheels for the price, but its hard to tell if they're actually going to be any good, or if they're legit! Nothing really anywhere else on the interweb, bar facebook and twitter. Seem to be a fairly new company? I'd be very tempted to buy if anyone else had a set or I could find some more info online!

I take it you know that the price on the page you link to (e.g. 354 Euro) is for the front wheel only, not the pair?
    More problems but still living....

Believe it or not I had worked that out...... That really would be too good to be true.

  • Hey there

I just ordered a pair of ZeroRival wheels, I will post a review of them here when I get them. So far everything seems good, ordered yesterday and they are already on their way with expected delivery in Denmark on monday. That is fast and reliable delivery so far.

Fueto Biccfi - Carbon Clincher £450 pair

    Quest 50mm - Carbon Clincher £599

Mavic Cosmic Carbone 2011 £731 the pair

£500-600 is become the norm for low end carbons - no need to take the risk of unknowns imo !

The last two in that list have alloy rims - so you won't need special bloks

Not sure the zerocx wheels are more unknown than the Fuetobicci ones, or Quest for that matter.
Planet X are the same price range.

So dyhingapus did they ever arrive??
  • Hi All

Sorry for the late reply, been a bit busy lately..

I received my pair of Zerocx Rival 4 days after ordering (delivery denmark) with UPS, everything in the finest condition. My initial pereception of the wheels were really good, they seem really solid build with a solid looking carbon rim (Zerocx have stated that it is sourced from a highly experienced carbon manufactorer overseas, not sure if it is Gigantex or which manufactorer). They have Sapim Cx-ray spokes and the trueing of the wheel was spot on.

Weight is 1450 of the wheelset without skewers but with rim tape. That puts the weight of the wheelset within a difference vs the stated of 30 grams. Acceptable in my opinion. Skewers weight is on 45 grams pr. set, and also seem solid build.

We have snow in denmsark at the moment but i managed to ride these for 150 km beforee the weather turned bad. You instantly feel the lightness and dynamics of such a light carbon wheelset, comparing to the mavic cosmic carbone sl which is 1750 g, its a whole new experience, you can really feel how the handling of sharp turns and quick accelerations have improved. When it comes to sound these are very quiet wheels the ceramic bearings seems to run very well, and the only thing you are hearing at high speed is the tire against the ground.

Stiffness wise they do not seem to flex. I weight 80 kg. and going uphill og sprinting I do not feel any flex og brake pads scrubbing against the rims.

So all in all these wheels are superb value for the money, i cannot seem to find anything that i do not like about these wheels. I am confident in using these as both a training and racing wheel

Do keep us posted on how you get on with your wheels, i had a brief look at the website and am impressed with all the info available there.

The Mavic's though are not anything comparable to these, they are just an alloy rim with a carbon fairing, nothing like the real thing..

    Good find.
