I went to the Mediatech at the BFI on London's southbank yesterday. It's a place where you can sit and look through all sorts of archive films and footage. They have a small cycling section featured at the moment and I saw a nice film there called "How a Bicycle is Made" from 1945, directed by Norman Lee. I can't see it online but would recommend anyone interested in bike manufacture should check it out. They show how various parts of the bike are made - frame, spokes, bars, fork, axles, all in the same factory somewhere in England. It's done in a kind of question and answer format, with a boy and his Dad asking a man from the factory different questions. Anyway, worth a look if you're in the area :)
