Hi,

I know there are a million posts regarding this -

Trouble is, how good are the wheels I've got ?

Riding - XC, mainly longer distance trails, southdowns etc. type stuff

Currently on 2008 Felt Q720 with fork and drivetrain upgrades - standard WTB SX24 rims on deore/lx hubs

Will I notice a difference / is it worth £250 for this wheelset ?

Hub- XT Splined Disc Rim - ZTR Arch White - Disc Spoke - DT Revolution Black

Please don't make other suggestions, just want to know the merits of this and current wheelset

Cheers :)

Is a strange combo of parts ie a tough rim and featherweight spokes. I'd either get the 355 for a lightweight XC package, or upgeade spokes to DT Comp.

Apart from that is a good wheelset.

Thanks Supersonic - It seems relatively difficult to get simple descriptions regarding specs for each component - I only thought of ZTR Arch as they are billed on notubes.com as an XC rim -and no idea as to the differences between DT spokes, these were just within budget  ...I was also looking at DT 4.2 rims, but again have had reviews that the TR Arch is better - better than or for what I don't know ! - thing is, most reviews are not for the sort of riding I do and assume you're some XC king or megaavalanche rider - when in reality, lots of us just enjoy tyo ride off-road - :o (que abuse)

I weigh approx. 14st, and as I said, my riding is not overly adventurous other than the fast downhill sections of the south downs.

I am looking to upgrade bits of my bike, I believe that the frame is worth it and generally wait until a component is broken then replace with something better. Currently I have approx. £300 I can throw at the old girl - so having upgraded forks and drivetrain was looking at wheels.

Th other thing is - would this wheelset be considerably lighter/smoother/faster rolling etc. than current ?

    Cheers :)
