Iam on the look out for a new front rim,Iam looking for a rim that can handle a bit of dh/freeride/all mountain, yes I know I dont want much but is there one out there?

Ive been looking at azonic outlaw, syncros dp28,superstar componants am or dh,anyone had any run ins with any of these rims and what are they like?

Any other surgestions would help too.

  • Mavic EN521's.
I have a pair of these and I think they're a great compromise between strength and weight.
I previously had Mavic XC717's which I destroyed. No surprise there, they are an XC wheel after all, but the EN521's have been to Morzine twice and had many an uplift day at Innerleithen with no buckles or warps of any kind.
You can get them cheap as chips as a custom build from Merlin or CRC.

remember that if you do not get the same rim as you have now you will most likely need new spokes.

    So consider a new wheel.
