fox suspension fork oil

Hi folks. I'm planning on renewing the wiper seals on a pair of 2007 fox vanilla R forks. I've seen many a post regarding how specific mountain bike fork oil is a rip off and is really motorbike fork oil (much cheaper). So presuming that the vanilla's have fox oil in can anyone recommend a cheaper alternative that will have the same viscosity so as not to change the rebound damping etc. Help would be appreciated
Cheers Cuss

You need float fluid (comes in single use packets for about £2) to put on the wiper seals, and then 7wt suspension oil for the rest. Apparently the 7.5wt of http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=112 does the trick nicely. From a quick Google search, any 7wt oil from Halfords should do the trick.
I'm basing that off http://www.cyclistno1.co.uk/features/ma ... ervice.htm and http://www.singletrackworld.com/forum/t ... properties0 -
i used the stuff available at the local motorbike shop (as does LBS) when i did my forks, (marzocchy and RS) felt as good as before,
Much cheaper though, iirc £3.50 for 500ml £7.50 1LTimmo.

Motul Factoryline is the best stuff you can get as used by Motorcycle suspension companies such as K Tech who do the suspension for alot of Moto Gp teams.
It's fairly pricey but is what I use in all my work.Suspension servicing, tuning, parts, setup and race support
