I've never done a timed run for just the FTD section but I reckon a decent time would be <45mins.

He ain't gonna get round the full circuit in 53 mins unless he wears his undercrackers on the outside and is allergic to kryptonite :)

i was thinking that, but did not want to put him down too much, esp being as the latter parts of ftd are "closed"

We go at the wifes pace with a few stops for drinks and we get round in 1 hour with the new ending.
  • just the old ftd with the new ending
    Just ride.
  • I think around 45 minutes is the average, some riders clock around the 30 minute mark though. I can do it in just under an hour if I don't take too many breaks.
  • We did it in 45 mins yesterday with a flapjack stop half way round after doing the FTD & Monkey Trail first, we were also held up by a fair bit of traffic (father and young daughter on Shockwave £50 specials deserve a mention), it seemed very busy yesterday although it was the first time I've been. is it always packed out at weekends?

There was some kind of running/cycling event on Saturday, and Sun-day is always rammed. Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon nights are the best time to go.

Visitors are easy to spot they wear black Endura everything and ride Boardmans or Giants :)
  • does that mean the locals are the ones in shell siut bottoms and crop top riding shockwaves?

Fixed it for you but yes - that's us

It's always miles busier on the weekend, but will be quieter after about 2/3pm and quieter if the weather's a bit iffy. Go on a weekday though and the place is pretty much deserted!
  • My buddy at work recons he managed to do the full FTD and Monkey trail loop in 1h15.....

...this included a bog stop and 2 fettle stops...

...and he is riding a tiny 4x bike with a single front ring and a 9xroad block and flat pedels.

Now, I will be the first to admit he is proper quick on the downs and he has some power in his legs but c'mon that time isn't possible is it?

  • 1hr 15? God he must fly.

Probably possible but with traffic and stops I would be very suprised.
