New Bike Shoes

Ok following on from a previous thread about advice on what bike to buy, I have bit the bullet and ended up with a Scott Scale 35. Considering it being my first bike, I dont think it is too shabby When I saw it, I just thought 'that is the one'..Anyway, I am going to sound a bit dumb here but I have got DMR V8 pedals installed and just looking for some shoes...I like the look of the Scott MTB Comp Shoes http://www.leisurelakesbikes.com/product/offerscottmtbcompshoes.aspx?&id=14479 But just wondering if the pedals will just eat into he soul and ruin them? I will eventually probably use the SPD pedals but as I haven't been on a bike for a few years, I wanted platform pedals for the time being. Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks

They don't look at all suitable for flat pedals. What you need is either some flat, waffle treaded Vans, or something like 5:10s.0

Just as I thought...What are some good 'flat' shoes?0 -
Exactly what Yeehaa said
If you are going clipless soon though, look at something like the 661 filter shoe, five ten and shimano make similar shoes aswell0 -
What about something like http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Reviews.aspx?ModelID=316960

Not really to keen on those...Is there nothing for platform pedals in the style of the mt32?0

Now I'm not sure what your asking for.
Are you wanting something just for flats or something that can be used for both clipless and flats0 -
Sorry for confusing you  Ideally something for both platform and clipless in the style of the mt32...0

Hmm...so really the only way to have the mt32 style is to go clipless isnt it..0

http://www.stif.co.uk/gear/select_optio ... &store=mtb how about those? I maybe best of just buying some flat trainers and then some spd's (if I ever decide to use them) Sorry about all these questions..0
