Hi
I have just been told that the races on my flip flop hub are starting to go and the hubs need replacing. I manage about 150 miles pw, in all weathers. I'm thinking maybe Miche, Surly, On One or Formula hubs. Any comments or experience with the aforementioned or other suggestions would be useful.
Thanks

My Formula hubs have lasted 3 years of about 100 miles a week. - still no play in them! I have replaced the outer shims and nuts as they corroded, but never replaced the bearings. Stayed tight and true.

My freewheel started making knocking noises after only about 5 months of commuting. Pretty poor. I'm new to single speed riding and I have never taken a hub apart on any bike. I want to try dismantling the hub and freewheel to see if I can spot the problem (and just out of curiosity), but there seems to be many different types of freewheel, each with it's own tool. Does anyone know all the different types?0
