brake mismatching

Im in the midst of converting an MTB to a winter commuter,
I have a pair of mechanical Avid V-brakes, and Im going to put a pair of bullhorns on as handlebars.
The question is this,
Can I use timetrial type brake levers ie. Cane Creek 200TT, with V-brakes, or is that just simply the stupidest idea ever?
(and if so, why?)
thanks.

FCN 11. When you hear the buzz of the nobblies, you know youve been scalped.

You'll need a travel adjuster type thing, it's all down to cable pull. Timetrial brake levers are designed for calliper brakes which need a smaller amount of cable pull.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0 -
^ yep. You might be able to get it to work, but you also might find that they won't pull enough cable and you might not get 'full lock' on the brakes.
I'd be interested to know what bike it is. Cyclocross with aerobars for some cross-desert timetrial?0
