    He's just trying to muddy the waters. Multiple tests on thousands of sportsmen does provide a useful statistical base, especially since the UCI will only sanction someone for a very large difference to the median. In other words, the bio passport does allow for freak scores but the probability of a rider reaching such levels by normal means is tiny. The UCI has deliberately set the threshold where suspicious scores can only be achieved by manipulation.

    If Pellizotti is busted then it will be a serious blow to Ferrari, for other clients will think, "hang on, this guy's behind the game".
