How goes it cruddys?
Finally finished building the Mmmbop last night at about half 1. Still got to fine tune the indexing and brake alignment, but it's pretty much there now.
Now to go shopping for tarty bits
Today I've got to do a bit of work because I took the day off yesterday, tonight I'll be watching "Maximum Overdrive"
Orsum!
What you meatbags up to then?

Got B&Q coming round to survey the kitchen for utility points etc so we can get a new kitchen fitted
Cleaned the bikes last night and had forgotten how pretty they look without a layer of dust  Forgot how therapeutic and calming cleaning a bike is, so might have to go riding to give me an excuse to clean them again0 -
Felt sh!t yesterday much better today not sure if I'll make it out today though, gotta take eldest lad to karate and then footy, think a day of rest will be good.'..all the bad cats in the bad hats..'0

Well I really fancy scratching and chipping the paint on my new bike, so tomorrow I'll be throwing my brand new Devinci into the back of a cattle truck and doing an uplift day at Innerleithen.
Maximum Overdrive, top film, even better short story.0 -
Just got up, lazy sod that I am.
Fitting my new Wellgo V12 mags to the Cotic, then putting the B54s on the Cannondale, sorting the brakes out once more on the Cannondale (dont ask!) thenI need to do a PO run, then after all of that I may have a pint in the local!!!!!

At least you don't have to go to IKEA to "look" for a chest of drawers.
I say look, but to me 'look' means find the item you want on the IKEA website, note down the number, check that the nearest store has it in stock, run through, dive in, buy it and back out in 15 minutes...
...but somehow I don't really think the operation will go that smoothly.0 -

Morning vile inhuman beasts.
Heading off to SITS shortly. After that I'll be heading back to my parents' house for the evening, partly because it's closer than riding back here, partly to surprise them when they get back from Rhodes tomorrow. It should be a good day.0 -

This is my idea of hell and normally imposes some form of frontal lobotomy on me as we enter the car park. If you look around there are similar expressionless faces being argued at for a lack of interest everywhere. It almost looks like a crap seen from Doctor Who as the evil Ikea mind wipe takes hold of the male population.
Fortunately a visit to the Maccy Dees drive through next door afterwards cures me each time. This is a block of text that can be added to posts you make. There is a 255 character limit.0 -
Cat got me up early by jumping on my bed walking all over me purring loudly. Fed the fleabag and opened the door to let her out and I spotted this funny yellowy ball low on the horizon and most of the sky was a strange bluey colour. Didnt know what was wrong with the sky so I thought I would get out for an early ride, great fun whizzing down sneaky paths in the local woods knowing the dog shit brigade would still be tucked up in bed. Even had a quick go on some jumps I found tucked well away from the path. I was utterly awesome getting at least 6 inches of air under my tyres.
Back home for a loaf of toast and back to bed for a quick snooze feel great now time to go and do some shopping for a new telly.Fig rolls: proof that god loves cyclists and that she wants us to do another lap0 -
Got up late, going to fit the new B54s to the bike, re-grease the headset then head to Betws I think.0

Pleased to say I've had a productive day myself! Today I replaced the derailleur jockey wheels, cassette and rear disc on the AM bike. The cassette was just plain worn as was the 185mm rear disc which squealed like a cat in agony every time I touched the rear brake lever.
I also degreased and fitted the new chain and doused the drivetrain in Purple Power synth lube. Lastly, realigned the rear brake caliper and checked the meshing and yes, it may need indexing, I'll find out once I ride it, but I did make a few minor adjustments on the shifter cable adjuster barrel and so far, so good
One thing I can say is that the £9.99 Cyclepro brand chain whip and cassette tool bundle I got from Merlin paid for itself today, also the cassette tool has a ½ inch fitting for the torque wrench. Having the right tools makes maintenance so much easier and quicker. My toolbox now needs an upgrade.. as in I need a bigger one!0 -
Afternoon peeps!
Well, today I have packed my bags as I'm heading off to Essex on Monday to spend time with friends. Also, I went in to see an Army Careers Officer, who was quite helpful and gave me some booklet things about the Royal Signals and the Royal Artillery (I must say, the job for the Artillery sounds good fun!).
Need to figure out whether my eyesight will be ok though, it says it has to be between -7/+8 and I have no idea what that's like. My eyesight isn't too bad, I can still see ok without glasses. Hmmm Also need to figure out what 'chronic eczema' is. I have eczema, but I wouldn't call it 'chronic' I don't think.
No date for me tonight as the girl has to go to a party. However, we had a nice chat on the phone at midnight, and all seems to be going well Of course, sods law that I think of joinin the army, then meet a lass :roll:It takes as much courage to have tried and failed as it does to have tried and succeeded.

Indeed. If you actually understand the meaning of the video, it's quite sad.
That youtube video doesn't seem to mention whether or not the solider survives though. I'm sure I've seen a slightly longer version where it was suggested that he didn't.0 -
It is a sad video, not sure whether I like all the acting though, they could have done it just as well without the talking really.
I think you're right, I think I've seen a version where he comes out from behind the pillar. HmmIt takes as much courage to have tried and failed as it does to have tried and succeeded.
