I didn't. After an intense effort, laying down some serious Watts, I sat up and had a drink. No hands. Front wheel hits a massive stone and down I go. :(

Broken collarbone. Two to three weeks off the bike and being unable to work. And the pay cheque I got yesterday is going towards replacing my clothes. Well, I get £20 change back.

Pretended to be Jens and cycled the last 20 miles. Got changed and jumped a taxi to the hospital.

Still haven't had a shower.

    Very lucky, JC!

The ride home was all about this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSokDsOwE1g

Also, the bike seems to be fine, so it's all good. 8)

i used to ride 'no handed' when i was younger all the time but since returning to cycling i get wobbly getting my bottle out of the holder and even more so putting it back, the thought of taking both hands off the bars is terrifying!i also need to practice looking over my shoulder approaching junctions as i weave around like a right muppet! It doesn't get easier with age!!

If I'm on my commuter and take my hands off the handlebars, I instantly turn left, and crash, because all the cables are pulling to one side :p

I need to practice no handed, it's essential, if you win a race you need to have both hands in the air.

In that case, I think you'll find it was £50.

so the cracked helmet was of no use in the accident then. he must have a strong head.

I'll own up to this piece of stupidity a week or so back ... 100 yards from home after 60 good miles in legs and looking forward to a brew... uphill towards home as ever.... head down ... head not in gear .. smack into back of a parked Ford Ka ......
no damage all round but feeling very idiotic at the time picking meself up from floor.
