Anybody any experience of these bikes - thinking of it as a winter bike...

Not with that specific model but I got a Orbea Gavia in 2004 and it's been just fine
I'd buy another if I wanted another race bike0 -
I got the Aqua T105 on a Cyclesheme deal through my work in May. I think it's a great bike and is far more comfy to ride than my hydrid which I commute on. Only complaint I have is that I find the wheels flex a little on steep inclines if I'm standing but other than that I'd thoroughly recommend it. Obviously the transmission is a bit nicer on my model but I don't imagine that would make a massive difference.
Anything specific you want to know?0 -
interesting comment on the wheels as the sales guy at the shop described them as bom proof... Kinda important as I'm a hefty bloke who lives in a rural location surrounded by roads in ill repair.
I suppose I was wondering how comfortable the frame is as I plan for it to be more for distance than speed...0 -
Also keen to hear what 2300 is like to live with as my summer bike operates Ultegra/1050

Can't fault the frame it's a very comfy ride. I regularly head out and rake up over 50 miles at a time without any aches and pains in the back.
I checked the spec of the T3 on the Orbea website and it's got different wheels than the T105. I've got the Shimano R500s which seem to be able to take plenty of abuse (as I've smashed through the odd pothole or two and they have remained true) it's just they feel a bit squishy when standing up to climb on gradient over 10%. They can't be flexing much as there isn't any wheel rub on the brakes but there is definitely something. I'm not particularly heavy at 12.5st.0 -
Thanks fieldy - 1973 was a fine year to be born ;-)0
