1,600 mile tour of England and Scotland

I returned this week from a fantastic 25 days touring England and Scotland. I mainly camped on this self-supported solo tour, when I rode from Cheltenham via the Western Isles up to the north coast of Scotland at Durness and then back via Inverness, Edinburgh and the Lake District.
I had a mainly brilliant time (aside from some dreich days with bad weather) - the scenery is just amazing with incredible wild views. I often combined the cycling with walking - so I spent several days out hiking up the mountains such as Liathach in Torridon and also on the Islands. A really worthwhile way to spend the best part of a month I covered most milage at the start and end of the tour (quite a few days above 100 miles, max 130) but once I arrived in Scotland I slowed down so I could really explore the places properly.
I've just started creating a blog about the trip and will be writing up the experiences here where you can also see pictures:

What an absolutely superb trip that must have been. Stunning pics. I'd love to do that one year - I feel 'all inspired'.
Thanks for letting us know about it.Giant Rapid 30 -
Thanks Suffolkwheels, yes it was a really enjoyable trip and a great way to see the country. If you ever have the time it's well worth it
It's going to take me a while to finish writing the blog, but I've added the best pictures to a set here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jtrickey/s ... 573235559/0
