I'm planning on a one week trip to Mallorca in september. I'll probably go alone and will stay in Alcudia, quite close to the mountains :)

Are there many cyclists around in september? Are you going? Any thoughts on this?

Cheers.

I've only been there as a non-biking visitor.

  • I've just got back from Mallorca. I rented a bike from Velosport in Felanitx. They were great. Riding on Mallorca is pure joy. I didn't see a huge amount of cyclists. Go to Ermitage Bedlem, near Arta - a stunning climb.

Cool. Best thing would be to hook up with other riders, since I'm probably going on my own :)

More insight into this is welcome! :)

@Westyorkey: cool! I'll give you a heads up if I'm anywhere close to the SW part of Mallorca :)

How come you choose the SW part of this island? :)

  • it's not a cycling holiday as such, my whole family have rented a house. I've rented the bike as a means of escapism... if you know what i mean! ;-)

Me and my mate are leaving Stockholm, Sweden for Mallorca tomorrow. We'll be staying in Alcudia for 7 days, from Sept 1st to Sept 8th.

We will climb Col de Soller, Puig Major, Sa Calobra and also visit Petra and Cap de Formentor.

If you're nearby and want a chat, give it a shout here :)

I'll be riding a Cervélo R3 -09 (white) and my mate an older blueish Trek. If you see us on the island, say hello! :)
