Forget about it - People know you re hardcore now!

Seriously though there's no point worrying about it, If you re riding to anything like a half decent standard you ll have another one shortly! If you re not falling off you re not trying hard enough!

  • You could touch up, pen or paint. It'll look gash, so rub it down with some rubbing compound, polish up, etc. There's probably a bit more to it than that though - google it!
  • If it is black then just touch it up with a sharpie pen!

I have used sharpie's to make silver spokes match black ones needs 2 coats but once dry it looks really good and will never wash off.

blacks an easy colour to touch up compared to white or silver.
buy car paint touch up kit from halfords or similar.
2 thin coats of black paint to fill scratch level with surface then a coat of clear laquer 24 hrs later.
do the repair in the house , you get a better finish in a warm environment.

Put a sticker over it or marker pen is good.

  • It's like anything - first scratch is psychologically destroying. Second one you realise sh!t happens....

Scratches are good - they make you ride faster

I heard that every new thing Steve Peat gets given, he immediatly drops it in order to overcome the "don't want to scratch the shiny new thing" factor

Although I reckon the story has been told with many names in place of Steve Peat....

Wouldn't worry about it, I scratched my Cotic frame today putting it in my mates van. Looks quite bad, but sh!t happens!
