Hi Folks

Whats the industry standard method of cleaning a ti frame, mined is covered in grease, oil and fingerprints at the mo.

Baby wipes left it all streaky

Ti is probably the easiest of all frame materials to clean due to its amazing durable properties, its rust proof, salt resistant, acid resistant etc etc so no special procedures are required and you will not damage it if handled properly and with care can really last you a lifetime.
easiest way is probably, bike wash (muc off, fenwicks etc), leave it to do its job (read instructions) and hose off then dry

I do this but spray the WD40 on to a cloth then wipe with it.

Baby wipes, works a treat and for some reason I don't get the streaks someone else mentioned.
  • SMEG recommend baby oil for stainless steel kitcken appliances. This could be just the pampering your Ti frame requires.

    Do you dry it afterwards?

Titanium does tarnish slightly in time , polish with a gentle metal polish (Brasso or similar) once or twice a year brings it up like new.

I clean mine with baby wipes and then polish it using some WD40/GT85. My frame is 8 years old and this gets it looking like new.
