  • I have a tracklog/crs of a 50 mile route starting in Matlock that takes in some of the better trails in the area.
Was planning to do it Sunday, but a busted knuckle has put a doubt on it.
could email it to you though.
  • you local to that area pablo?

Will be down that way, Alfreton, end Oct if you fancy a ride, Sat 30th.

Hoping/planning to ride with a mate from over Castleton way
  • Yes I have migrated north from Essex
I generally work Saturdays, although Sundays are good.
If the weather is damp towards the end of October you might be better off going up to Castleton as the Dark Peak gives more grip on the trails than The White Peak when its wet (the trails are much better up there anyway).
  • might just do that .

What have you been up to Senor Fandango?
  • came down the road from tissington in the rain too fast to make the bend before the ford.
broke my front wheel as well :(

At least it was near to home.

    Hope you get better soon.

any one no if there are any good routes south of matlock, the area between the a610 on the east side of the a6 looks to have some very nice looking wooded areas on some steep hill sides, not seen a o/s map of the area yet, might be worth looki at
  • missed all the thorns :)

plenty of options around that area - I have been on group rides in many parts, but don't know them well enough to guide.

a good start is to climb intake lane in cromford and have an explore to your right from the top.
  • Hearthstone Lane from Riber Castle to Lea is quite good. Some routes in Shining Cliff Woods, but I have never ridden them.
