Remarkably rare sight this morning

Driving in today, I overtook a bike I had never seen in use before:

A tandem recumbent :D and just to add to the rarity value, it even had a trailer! Two seats reclined, one behind the other - it looked very relaxing.... 8)

    I was going to stop and take a snap with my phone but:

    was running late
    could imagine the explanantion to the couple riding the bike while trying to explain why... :wink:

    Yup - one behind 'tother but much more laid back and lower. Looked like two canvas chairs on a bike frame :)

    I used to see this recumbent quite often on audaxes in the SW
    Mike Hunting and Linda Johnston used to ride it a lot

    Saw one of these at the Manchester SkyRide on Sunday - cool. SkyRide was excellent btw - hadn;t been before. But too late to get my bib signed by Victoria Pendleton. :( Or by Gemma Atkinson. :(:(
