They may be cheap, but I wish they'd stop frigging calling me.

Them: " we noticed you didn't take the courtesy car for an extra £50, why was that"

Me: "it cost more money"

Them: "I can offer you a 25% discount, are you interested?"

Me: "will is cost me more money"

Them: "yes"

Me: "no then.... that is the main reason I didn't take it"

Them: " oh... ok.... is there anything else I can help you with on this call today"

Me: " you called me... what can you help me with"

Them:" eh?"

*clunk*

3rd time in 2 weeks now! arrgh!
Think i'm going to try and sell them something next time... what should I sell them?

    With Admiral

them - we will give you £1400 for your written off car

Me - it cost £2800 two months ago.

    2 -3 weeks later.

    Them - we'll give you £1800

    Me - I want another £1000

Them - prove its worth that much

Me - emailed 6 links to similar cars going for the same.

Them - we'll have to use an intendant valuation

    Me - do it.

    Them - here is £2500

They are a total pain in the arse. All that took nearly 4 months. I am never going with them again.

more than is pretty good for insurance, not the cheapest, but miles from being the most expensive.

i've had a hire car for the entire time i've been without my own car (getting charged to the bus company at £140 per day and will have had it for 42 days when it goes back) and a very nice car it is too.

i was also expecting about £2250-2500, they offered me £3250 (akthough i think it must have been a typo when they entered it into their system (maybe should have been £2350) not bad for a 9 year old A6 with close to quarter of a million miles on it. Pick up new car on wed, but will be sad to see the merc go :(

all insurance companies work like that, its a sales opertunity, you have to sell them your bent metal for as much as you can, providing as much proof as you can.

Try explaining that your vintage 60's car is worth more than £5k they cant see that a car being that old being worth that much
On my Porsche i had to have a independent valuation and specialist insurance, but it was still cheaper to insure than a 1ltr micra.
