Just stabdard practice of trying to smear anyone testifying to the grand jury. Given riders are being summoned under oath to a grand jury and face prison time if they don't tell the truth, I'm not sure if a "deal" on a sporting ban is going to sway a rider. Although as Iain points out, it shows USADA is very much part of the process: this is an anti-doping matter and not just about federal funds.0
