So it's less than a week away now, who else on here is going to be taking part?

The route is released on their website now, and after a brief look I think I haven't even cycled one metre of this route before, and I'm in London until Saturday afternoon so no time to check it out in advance, so hope I don't get lost :P

Ah good news, and the big climbs mean big descents too :)

Here's the elevation profile for the route, the dark blue part is the extra section if you go for the long route. 1200m (4000 feet) of climbing... gonna be long day!

This was my first time on the Exmoor Explorer and managed the long route in 5 and a half hours  Not great, but I was about ready to collapse on the final section back from the tea stop. Some savage climbs but some great downhill sections too :) Could have done with less road but I was glad for the smoothness near the end!

I thought the route was exellent, ok a fair bit of road after second tea stop but that soon went. People on other forums are moaning about the fireroads but personally i like them. Great flowing downhills too. well done to the organisers and marshalls for another great event. I finished the long route in 4 hours 13, which including puncture repairs and a bit of cramp on the killer chargot climb at the end, im pleased with.
