Is my bike worth upgrading?

Hello all I have recently been bitten by the off road bug. I have been going out twice a week over the last three months with established riders, I am gaining more confidence on every ride. I do have a good level of fitness as I have commuted everyday for the last 20 years by bike and find I can keep up with the other riders easily. The problem is I got into this new hobby just after I had bought a new road bike for my daily commute, leaving money tight to buy another bike. Currently I am using my old giant rincon mountain bike which is about 6 years old, it is still in very good condition but was wondering if this would be worth spending money on over time upgrading forks brakes ect... so any advice would be very helpful thanks Ray.

Minor upgrades yes, but if planning new forks and brakes then I would sy a new bike makes more sense.0

Why not sell the old one and put the money towards something more appropriate!0
