MTB Routes in Bavaria.
The (German) company I work for has a mountain hut in the Bavarian mountains, near a small town called Riefensberg, which is actually in Austria, although the hut is just inside the German border. Use of the hut is free to all employees; we just have to get ourselves there.
Since the introduction of CTW quite a few of us have bought mountain bikes (which we don't go to work on, but who's checking) and I thought to put together a trip for as many that are willing, to do a bit of cycling, maybe June next year. The place will sleep 22 people in seven bedrooms, so it's far from being just a "hut".
The trouble is, I can't find any information regarding mountain biking up there. For myself, I'd prefer XC trails, but trail centres would be good too.
Can someone point me to where I can look? All I can find are cycling holidays- not what we want at all. Does anyone know where can I get local OS type maps from for that area? Or even if there are any.
Also, if any of you have been anywhere near there, what are the local rules re: mountain biking. We wouldn't want to get our arses chewed by locals for infringing codes of practice etc.
