The Force 1.0
Comes as standard with full XT, Mavic XM719, FloatR and RP23 with 6 inch of travel but the following has been changed:
Not had this long but very impressed with it. Anyone looking for a long travel bike without a slack head should give this a try.

Nice looking bikes, i have a GT 08 avalanche 1.0 which is currently being up graded its a great hardtail, i was thinking of buying the force 1.0 but a went for the Trek ex 8 insteadLapierre Spicy 316 20110

I looked at the Trek EX8 too really well specced and nice to ride but wasn't that impressed with the strength of the frame. Had I been a few stones lighter than it would have stayed as a contender.0

Racing ralphs on a 6inch full susser!!? Sacrilege! Get some proper tyres on there!0

On dry trails it was good plenty of grip and predictable. First bit of rain and lets say it was interesting. Nobby Nics front and rear now much better even at only 2.1 width, when I get the time they'll be going tubeless. Other changes including Stans flows on Hope 2's, Saint double and bash and Lyrik solo airs with a shorter stem.0

Ooo love the black on the force I'm really thinking that way for next frame and I'd love to get one and transfer my parts. I'm a gt fan just don't like the look of I drive frame but can't afford carbon zaskarFor the muddy - Boardman comp frame ( to match the roadie) running saint/ fox
For the blacktop - Boardman Pro Carbon

That force is quite nice, really digging the tubing on it. Both have some pretty good specs, I'd say it's a job well done on that collection!0

finally someone who has taken the time to overhaul an avalanche frame with some good parts! I have an 07 Avalanche but completely rebuilt with full slx drivetrain, FSA bars stem and headset wth some brand new recons! rides so nice once you get some quality parts on it! like what you've done to yours and that force 1 is a dream bike for any GT rider very impressive!!!!0

Avalanche was a great bike although not much was left of the original bike other than frame and headset but it built up into a light and strong bike. I know a few people who rode and compared to their much more expensive bikes even with my many upgrades they thought it was a better bike.
It has now been stripped and the parts used on other bikes or sold on. A mate bought the frame and thinks it great although he is sadly using it as a single speed still it will give many more years service.
The GT Force has gone through a bit a tinkering from standard and I'll be posting pics and spec of the revised bike this weekend. Again another bike that's underated in many peoples mind although I can guarantee that most will never have ridden one to make such an opinion.0 -
Slightly changed since I got it and sadly not used much since getting getting the Sovereign and On One Pompetamine
Plenty of parts came from this bike to go on the Sovereign inc XT cranks, Fox Float forks, XT brakes. The forks where changed for Lyriks which ended up on the Sovereign and the Fox Floats sold as I couldn't get on with them. Revelations RLT Ti dual travel forks suit the bike nicely and Saint crank n brakes replaced what transferred to the Sovereign. Shorter 50mm stem and wider bars sharpened up the front end.0
