Doesn't look as good as the Fuji S1500, which is half the price, unless you need a compact and HD vid. And even then, are cheapermodels.
  • Yeh, I'm not really into cameras, but it does seem to be a pretty poor spec at a silly price. I guess you're paying the extra for it being waterproof, shockproof etc, and the HD video thing.

Our old Finepix A170 that I now use for bike related activities had a similar spec, and that only cost about £50

The Panasonic Lumix are just frighteningly good. There's loads of jaw-dropping photos from them on Flickr.

i really want a lumix, they are very nicely put together.

seeing as i cant tell the diference between a good and a bad picture i judge cameras on how tactile they are. i love the look of those lumix cameras.

Jay's got a pretty good point.

Are you specifically after a compact? A second hand SLR would be ace otherwise.

I've got a Panasonic Lumix TZ5 and it's flapping awesome. I love the design (quite old school Leica stylie) and it's great to use, feels solid and takes excellent quality pictures. I can only imagine that the newer versions are even better.
    Happy trails.
