I was pondering, inspired by Nicensleazy's post regarding top ten punk bands, what type of music do most of the cyclists here prefer.

Please add any particular embarrassing stories related to your chosen genre, or reason for going down that groove.

I think it depends what you grow up with. I was just old enough to know I hated disco with a huge passion and got into punk, new wave and ska.

I've picked reggae as thats the nearest to my tastes of the options you've put up there

I tried to be as wide and as generalised with the options - so 'lumped' punk in with 'rock' :oops: I guessed I'd manage to miss out some possibilities too...

I'll listen to anything except Jazz and Blues (I just can't get on with those), but I cetainly favour rock music. And anything by R Strauss.

I can usually find something in any musical niche except rap, trance and manufactured boy/girl bands.

Rock, in the poll, covers too much compared to the others, but covers just about anything I listen to regularly. Prog rock should have had it's own catagory.

Pretty much like anything from classical right across to dance music. The only music I cannot stand is death metal and some of the drum and bass with no actually 'music'; just a beat.

The German dance scene is awesome, and one day I hope to head over there to witness a dance festival and join in.
