Good moaning,

I've been using a ritchey comp 40cm bar and wanted to try a compact.

I got an FSA omega compact in a 42cm and whilst being wider overall the tops have pretty much the same amount of flat bar for my hands as the ritchey comp. I know I should try and mount everything and wrap the bars but It'll be a pain to take everything off if it's not right.

I want to spend more time in the drops too but I can't tell if it's going to be a comfortable experience and I don't want it too look ridunculous on my 52cm frame...

Anyone have any similar experience?

Thanks

Is it this bar, you have? http://www.ritcheylogic.com/dyn_prodfamily.php?k=355352 If so, it is already compact in the 40cm size. Reach and drop is the same or less than the FSA Omega Compact. Just the shape of the bend is different.

That said, I would go with a 42cm FSA if you had 40cm before. But it is 1cm narrower at the top, so if you feel like going a bit wider, go 42, a bit narrower, 40.

These are nice compact bars http://www.shinybikes.com/product.php?productid=17881
Short reach and drop, wide flat top section, nice comfy curve.
Have tried many bars including the Omega and for me these are excellent :D
